  16. really has nothing to loose.  They can be updated to the full version later

  70. got the same damn message.  I think the file it leaves is c:\ubuythis.now

  226. the only case I've every heard about the "one speaker problem".  Which 
  227. music did you play?  Did the music come out of both speakers in mono mode?

  320. well, i don't quite agree on the prosperous part.  while they might not be
  321. microsoft or intel, they made 2.3 million last quarter.  this is hardly
  322. enough to make a difference in a multi-billion dollar corporation, but it
  323. puts renewed confidence in the board with their new CEO, and the
  324. shareholders in their company.

  326. OS/2 is a bigger seller than most people think.  Almost all current OS/2
  327. people will upgrade to Warp.  In addition, alot of people need 32 bit now,
  328. and can't wait for something that might be too little, too late (we're
  329. talking about win95, oc! :D)  once win95 comes out, i believe Warp will
  330. lost a substantial base, but many people have seen mickeysoft's tricks
  331. on IBM by holding out on WinNT, figuring people would want to wait for NT.
  332. Well, some of these people are going to Warp because it's good and it's
  333. here.  I believe IBM will stop making major upgrades on Warp if Chicago is
  334. as good as everyone says it is.  But, Warp serves IBM's purpose for now..
  335. (my opinion here, so no major flames.. :D)

  446. seems perfectly illogical to me..  the betas are not full release
  447. versions, so people might get very frustrated with win95 because of a
  448. buggy beta and not get the final release version.

  450. two more likely problems with this solution are with the money ms gets. 
  451. not charging full price for the betas, ms will lose a bundle of money it
  452. could make with the full release.  if it offers the release free for beta
  453. owners, it's losing a hell of a lot more.  if it offers it at full price
  454. or slightly discounted, alot of people will be content with the beta..

  469. hey, maybe someone else out there has had this problem(s), and can offer 
  470. some advice: my 486DX2-66 motherboard/cpu and EIDE all-in-one wondercard 
  471. came today. everything's in working order, but i keep getting messages 
  472. like "Invalid Command.Com" especially after exiting some programs, and 
  473. TONS of GPFs in windows (currently if i try to boot windows it starts to 
  474. boot then gives me a GPF on progman.exe :) any ideas? i found one 
  475. conflict which makes no sense but that i'd had in the past (my SCSI card 
  476. on IRQ 5 conflicts with comm 1 on IRQ 4 - go fuckin figure!) but i'm 
  477. still having problems after removing the scsi card. i'm inclined to think 
  478. that the problem is in the serial port being there, but i can't disable 
  479. it since i no longer have a bus mouse (the bus mouse interface was on my 
  480. old video card)..
